Coach a Child ~ Change a Life – Want to make a difference in the life of a child? You can make a real impact by becoming a One-to-One Coach! The Rotary Club of Florence invites ALL parents, business, other organizations and community members to change a child’s life by becoming a Northern Kentucky Education Council (NKYEC) (@nkyec1) One to One Reading Coach. Research has shown the importance of a child reading on grade level by third grade. Schools cannot do this alone, they need parents and community members to read with kids.
Eric Blankenship (@mistabscience), Principal of Stephens Elementary (@StephensElemKY) shares “We are tremendously excited to be partnering with the Florence Rotary to start a One to One Reading Program here at Stephens Elementary. The impact of having Reading coaches with our students will directly impact student success not only for this year but for life. Early childhood literacy is the foundation of learning and having amazing community partners like the Florence Rotary to mentor our students will be one more level of support to ensure that our children have the best chance at success moving forward. Thank you to The Rotary Club of Florence and The One to One Program.”
From the classroom to the boardroom, throughout a 50-year career in education, Polly Lusk Page (@page_rewired) maintains a top priority of accelerating both achievement and well-being for students. Her career spans working with individual students in the classroom; both elementary and post-secondary to collaborating with educators, business, and community leaders across the region and state. As former Executive Director for the Northern Kentucky Education Council (@nkyec1), 2009-2019, Page aligned and created impactful programs through cross-sector partnerships across a 7-county region and 18 school districts to maximize success for youth. Under her leadership a data dashboard for the region was created, a collective impact model that focused on 3 priority goals was implemented and resources were leveraged to change the way we do business in order to change the odds for children and youth. She is known for goal setting, strategic planning, and her ability to build consensus.
Page is currently the Director for the One to One Programs and consults with non-profits, grant-makers and educators on strategic initiatives.
